Op hierdie wyse word daar verseker dat elke kind die geleentheid kry om sy of haar volle potensiaal te bereik.
Ons is ook bevoorreg om ‘n maatskaplike werker en berader as voltydse diensverskaffer op ons personeel te hê. Ons Terapeutiese Span
Ons terapeute bied professionele ondersteuning aan kinders wat addisionele hulp met kommunikasie, motoriese ontwikkeling, leer en emosionele welstand benodig.
Spraakterapeut:
Ons spraakterapeut help kinders wat sukkel met taalontwikkeling, uitspraak, kommunikasievaardighede en gehoorverwerking. Hierdie terapie verbeter ‘n kind se vermoë om duidelik te praat, klanke te vorm en effektief met ander te kommunikeer.
Arbeidsterapeut:
Ons arbeidsterapeut fokus op die ontwikkeling van fyn- en grofmotoriese vaardighede, hand-oog-koördinasie en sensoriese verwerking. Dit is veral waardevol vir kinders wat sukkel met skryf, handvaardighede, balans of algemene fisiese koördinasie.
Leesterapeut:
Ons leesterapeut ondersteun kinders wat uitdagings met lees en begrip ervaar. Deur spesifieke tegnieke en oefeninge te gebruik, help die terapeut leerders om hul leesvaardighede te verbeter en sodoende akademies beter te presteer.
Berader:
Ons voltydse berader speel ‘n belangrike rol in die emosionele en psigiese welsyn van ons leerders. Die berader help kinders om hul emosies beter te verstaan en te bestuur. Leerders word ondersteun en met emosionele veerkragtigheid bemagtig sodat hulle uitdagings soos angs, lae selfbeeld of sosiale probleme en konflikhantering beter kan hanteer. Ons doel is om ‘n veilige en vertroulike ruimte te bied waar kinders hulself kan uitdruk en die nodige ondersteuning kan ontvang.

Additional Services
At Huguenot Primary School, we are privileged to host a dedicated team of therapists on our premises. This team plays a vital role in supporting learners with additional needs and is invaluable to the development and well-being of our children. In this way, it is ensured that every child has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.
We are also privileged to have a social worker and counsellor as a full-time service provider on our staff. The emotional and psychological well-being of our learners is therefore continuously taken care of. By creating a supportive and safe environment, we help children handle challenges with confidence.
At Huguenot Primary School, we believe in a holistic approach to each learner’s development. Our therapeutic services and counselling form part of our commitment to helping each child thrive in a supportive environment.
Our Therapeutic Team
Our therapists provide professional support to children who need additional help with communication, motor development, learning and emotional well-being.
Speech therapist:
Our speech therapist helps children who are struggling with language development, pronunciation, communication skills and auditory processing. This therapy improves a child’s ability to speak clearly, form sounds and to communicate effectively with others.
Occupational Therapist:
Our occupational therapist focuses on the development of fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye co-ordination, and sensory processing. This is especially valuable for children who struggle with writing, hand skills, balance or general physical co-ordination.
Reading Therapist:
Our reading therapist supports children who are experiencing challenges with reading and comprehension. By using specific techniques and exercises, the therapist helps learners to improve their reading skills and thus perform better academically.
Counsellor:
Our full-time counsellor plays a key role in the emotional and psychological well-being of our learners. The counsellor helps children better understand and manage their emotions. Learners are supported and empowered with emotional resilience so that they can better cope with challenges such as anxiety, low self-esteem or social problems and conflict management. Our aim is to provide a safe and confidential space where children can express themselves and receive the support they need.
