Grondslagfase

Grondslagfase

In die Grondslagfase is daar 4 klasse per graad, waarvan 3 Afrikaans en 1 Engels is. Die boustene vir alle toekomstige leer word in hierdie fase gelê en daarom is dit vir ons van kardinale belang om elke leerder holisties te ontwikkel. Die bevordering en ontwikkeling van persoonlike, sosiale en emosionele welstand, asook ‘n positiewe ingesteldheid teenoor leer en sosiale vaardighede is die grondslag van alle leer.

Ons fokus word op basiese wiskunde- en taalvaardighede en die vaslegging daarvan toegespits. Daar word daagliks matwerk in klein groepies met gedifferensieerde lees- en wiskundeaktiwiteite in al die klasse gedoen. Indien ‘n leerder geïdentifiseer word wat addisionele ondersteuning benodig, word intervensieklasse na skool vir hierdie leerders deur die klasonderwyseres aangebied om areas van kommer te ondersteun.

Motoriese vaardighede word daagliks ingeoefen om leerders in totaliteit te ontwikkel. Elke graad het ook hul eie aparte speelterrein met ‘n verskeidenheid klim- en klouterapparate om groot motoriese ontwikkeling tydens vryspel aan te moedig.

Leerders word die geleentheid gebied om deur middel van ontdekking, kritiese denke, kommunikasie, groepwerk en kreatiwiteit te leer en te doen. Al ons klasse is ook toegerus met ‘n interaktiewe witbord vir E-leer.

 

Die volgende vakke vorm deel van die KABV kurrikulum:

  • Afrikaans (Huistaal)
  • English (Home Language)
    Engels (Eerste Addisionele Taal)
  • Afrikaans (First Additional Language)
  • Wiskunde
  • Lewensvaardigheid

Bo en behalwe die bogenoemde vakke ontvang leerders ook weekliks onderrig in die volgende vakke:

  • Rekenaarvaardigheid
  • Cami Wiskunde-program
  • Robotika en Kodering: Six Bricks

Alle formele assesserings vind deurlopend in ‘n ontspanne leeratmosfeer plaas.

Dit is vir ons baie belangrik om elke leerder toe te rus met die nodige kennis en vaardighede om hul volle potensiaal te bereik en goeie landsburgers te wees. Ons wil verseker dat al ons kinders gelukkig is, met ‘n goeie waardesisteem wat hul etiese besluite, oordeel en gedrag in die samelewing sal bepaal.

Foundation Phase

In the Foundation Phase there are 4 classes per grade, of which 3 are Afrikaans and 1 is English. The building blocks for all future learning are laid in this phase and it is therefore crucial for us to develop each learner holistically. The promotion and development of personal, social and emotional well-being, as well as a positive attitude towards learning and social skills are the foundation of all learning.

Our focus is on basic Mathematics and language skills and the consolidation thereof. Mat work is done daily in small groups with differentiated reading and maths activities in all the classes. If a learner who needs additional support is identified, intervention classes are offered by the class teacher after school to support areas of concern.

Motor skills are practised daily to develop learners in totality. Each grade also has their own separate playground with a variety of climbing equipment to encourage gross motor development during free play.

Learners are offered the opportunity to learn and do through discovery, critical thinking, communication, group work and creativity. All our classes are also equipped with an interactive whiteboard for E-learning.

In addition to the above-mentioned subjects, learners also receive weekly instruction in the following subjects:

  • Computer Proficiency
  • Cami Mathematics programmes
  • Robotics and Coding: Six Bricks

All formal assessments take place continuously in a relaxed learning atmosphere.

It is very important to us to equip every learner with the necessary knowledge and skills to reach their full potential and to become good citizens of our country. We want to ensure that all our children are happy, with a good value system that will determine their ethical decisions, judgement and behaviour in society.
